Wedding updates!!!

So as you probably already know, we have decided to get married in Hawaii. As a couple of explorers, we didn't want to have a wedding somewhere that we've already been and neither of us have ever been to Hawaii. Hawaii is going to have a lot of exciting things for us to do from hanging out with humpback whales to climbing the famed live volcano, Mt. Kilauea!

Hell yeah I hope I get to see some lava. Maybe not this much though. lol
I sent out an e-mail to change our date to Thursday, March 8th 2012. That gives everyone some time to save up airfare and hotel costs.

We will be getting married on Big Island at Waikoloa. Waikoloa is close to the base of Mt. Kilauea and is therefore made primarily of lava and ash, making it an interestingly awesome beach wedding.

Waikoloa is also a great place to go snorkeling so you can hang out with some sea turtles:

Unfortunately, sea turtles are critically endangered which brings me to my next idea. In lieu of gifts, I would love it if everyone would adopt an endangered species from the World Wildlife Fund. As an example, when you adopt a sea turtle for $50 you would get a WWF sea turtle plushy, some other goodies, and you would be helping out a critically endangered species.

Then during our reception back in California, we could have everyone bring their plushies of various endangered species and take pictures together with all of them. That would capture the fond memory of all my loved ones and I who helped saved an endangered animal. I would much prefer that gift over a blender or something.
